The North Oxford Men's Hockey League was an independent Senior league in Southern Ontario. The NOMHL partially overlapped with the Western Ontario Athletic Association Senior Hockey League, but the two league were not related. The NOMHL was designed to have less travel than the WOAA as well.
History[]
The league claimed to be the longest running full contact senior league in North America. Originally known as the North Oxford Rural Hockey League, the NOMHL is the last of the old "rural leagues" to still be operating, at least at such a high capacity.
The league changed its name to the North Oxford Men's Hockey League in 2008 and lowered its age minimum to 18 to better serve the development of the league.
In the early days, the Harmony Hurricanes won 13 consecutive league championships spanning three decades. The second longest streak is held by the St. Marys Smoke who had won the league 7 consecutive times.
