The North Carolina Tar Heels are the athletic teams representing the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The university presently has both men's and women's club teams which are members of the American Collegiate Hockey Association's Atlantic Coast Collegiate Hockey League in their ACHA Men's Division I, ACHA Men's Division II, and ACHA Women's Division II. All three teams are based out of the Orange County Sportsplex in Hillsborough, North Carolina.
The formation of a women's team was announced on July 18, 2024 to begin play with the 2024-25 season.[1]
