Noah Dobson (born January 7, 2000) is a Canadian ice hockey defenceman who currently plays for Acadie-Bathurst Titan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). Dobson is considered as one of the top defensive prospects for the upcoming 2018 NHL Entry Draft.

Playing career[]

Dobson was selected in the first round, sixth overall by Acadie-Bathurst Titan at the 2016 QMJHL Entry Draft.[1] Dobson played his rookie season for Acadie-Bathurst in 2016-17, appearing in 63 games, scoring 26 points, and also appearing in 11 games in the playoffs, in which he added 5 assists.

In the 2017-18 season, Dobson's sophomore season with the Titan he improved his play, playing in 67 games, he scored 17 goals and 52 assists for 69 points. Dobson finished in second for points among defenceman in the entire league and was a nominee for the Emile Bouchard Trophy, given to the QMJHL's defenceman of the year. He was also nominated for the Michael Bossy Trophy as one of the league's top professional prospects, along with the Kevin Lowe Trophy.[2]

During the 2017-18 playoffs Dobson helped lead the Acadie-Bathurst Titan to the team's first President's Cup since 1998-99. The team defeated the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada in the finals of the playoffs 4 games to 2, with Dobson scoring 13 points in 20 playoff games.[3] He also participated in the 2018 Memorial Cup with Acadie-Bathurst and helped them win the Memorial Cup for the first time in franchise history, defeating the Regina Pats 3-0.[4]
