The Muskegon Lumberjacks are a Tier 1 junior ice hockey team located in Muskegon, Michigan set to begin play in the United States Hockey League for the 2010-2011 season. The Lumberjacks replace the IHL franchise of the same name, which is folding at the end of the 2010 IHL season to make room for the USHL franchise. The Jacks are owned by Josh Mervis under a company known as Blue Ox Hockey.[1]
History[]
The Muskegon Lumberjacks franchise was previously located in Rochester, Minnesota and known as the Rochester Mustangs[2]. The Mustangs competed in the USHL from 1985-2002 and also hold a USHL Anderson Cup title for regular season champion in the 1986-87 season and a Clark Cup championship for the same season.
