History[]
This league was formed in 1921-22 and played in the Mount Royal Arena in Montreal. The games were played in that arena every Sunday.
It soon became one of the most powerful amateur hockey leagues in Canada. In 1928-29 its champion actually made it as far as the Allan Cup final.
In 1932-33 the league was promoted to the senior level. This promotion only lasted for one season as the league could not survive in the same city as the Montreal Senior Group. These two leagues merged and a new Mount Royal Intermediate League was formed in 1933-34.
