Moritz Müller (born on November 19, 1986 in Frankfurt am Main) is a German professional ice hockey defenceman. He is currently playing with the Kölner Haie of the DEL.

Club career[]

Müller's youth team is the EC Kassel. In 1999 - 2001, Müller played with the EC Kassel U16 of the Schüler-BL.

Müller began the 2002-03 season with the ES Weißwasser U18 of the DNL but after 22 games played, he moved to the Kölner EC U18 of the DNL. He finished there the season with 10 regular season games and 3 play-off games played.

He made his senior debut in the 2003-04 season when he played 2 games with the Kölner Haie of the DEL while he also played 35 regular season games and 4 play-off games with the Kölner EC U18 of the DNL.

In the 2004-05 season played Müller 42 regular season games and 7 play-off games with the Kölner Haie of the DEL and 8 regular season games and 6 relegation games with the Moskitos Essen of the 1. Eishockey-Liga.

In the next season, he played 44 regular season games and 9 play-off games with the Kölner Haie of the DEL and 12 games with the Moskitos Essen of the 1. Eishockey-Liga.

Since 2007, he is playing exclusively with the Kölner Haie of the DEL[1]. In the 2020-21 season, Müller also played 4 games on loan with the EC Kassel Huskies of the DEL2 besides his 38 games played with the Kölner Haie in this season. He is currenly signed with the Kölner Haie of the DEL until the end of the 2021-22 season.

International career[]

He played with the German National Team at the 2004 World U18 Championship Division I (winning there gold), 2005 World Junior Championship, 2006 World Junior Championship Division I (winning there gold while he was the player who scored most points (7) at the tournament), 2009, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 World Championships and at the 2018 Olympics (winning there silver).
