Montreal St Francois Xavier was first an intermediate, then a senior team in [[Montreal]], [[Quebec]], [[Canada]].

They first showed up as a team in the [[Montreal Hockey League]] in 1919-20. But their best years were in the [[Mount Royal Intermediate League]] starting in 1923-24.

Amazingly they also won the [[1928-29 Eastern Canada Allan Cup Playoffs]], the first intermediate team to do so. They lost the [[1928-29 Allan Cup Final]] to [[Port Arthur]].

The [[Mount Royal Senior League]] merged with the [[Montreal Senior Group]] for the 1933-34 season. St Francois finished in fifth place and out of the playoffs. That was their last season.

History

Montreal St Francois Xavier was first an intermediate, then a senior team in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

They first showed up as a team in the Montreal Hockey League in 1919-20. But their best years were in the Mount Royal Intermediate League starting in 1923-24.

They won the league title in 1925-26 and then, depsite being an intermediate club, won the 1926-27 Quebec Senior Playoffs. Unfortunately they had to default out of the 1926-27 Eastern Canada Allan Cup Playoffs beacause of the lateness of the season.

After taking a two year hiatus, they again won the league title in 1928-29 and then won the 1928-29 Quebec Senior Playoffs. Amazingly they also won the 1928-29 Eastern Canada Allan Cup Playoffs, the first intermediate team to do so. They lost the 1928-29 Allan Cup Final to Port Arthur.
