The Montreal NDG Monarchs played out of the Notre Dame de Grace neighbourhood of Montreal. They were a junior team that played in the Metropolitan Montreal Junior League from 1956-57 through 1964-65.

Their greatest success came in 1963-64 when they won their league title, provincial title, and made it to the Eastern Canada Memorial Cup Final. They lost that to the Toronto Marlboros 3 wins to 1, but that one win that they earned was the only loss that the Marlboros would suffer in their playoffs.

The Monarchs coach during the playoffs was Scotty Bowman.
