Creation
The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) Board of Governors approved an application from the Coast Hockey LLC ownership group to operate in Biloxi, Mississippi, United States, in October 2009. The team is asking hockey fans to help name the team by suggesting names on the website www.nameourteam.com.
The group secured a lease from the Mississippi Coast Coliseum and got final approval from by the SPHL's Board of Governors on May 7, 2009.
