Mikhail Grigor'yevich Kravets Sr. (born November 12, 1963 in Leningrad, Soviet Union) is a Russian retired professional ice hockey right wing who played mostly in the Soviet Championship League and lower American leagues. He also played two games in the National Hockey League. He is currently the head coach of the Vityaz Podolsk and the assistant coach of the Belarusian National Team.
Player career[]
Kravets began his career in 1982 with Izhorets Leningrad of the Class B. In 1983, they were promoted to Soviet Class B.
He played with SKA Leningrad from 1985 to 1991. The San Jose Sharks chose him 243rd overall in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. That year Kravets came to North America to try his luck.
He got into two games for the Sharks, one in 1991-92 and one in 1992-93. Other than that he had an extensive career in the minor pros, mostly in the International League and the ECHL. In 2000 Kravets returned to Russia and played for three seasons in his native St. Petersburg. He retired in 2003.
