Mike Minard is a retired goaltender. He was born on November 1, 1976 in Owen Sound, Ontario.
Minard played Junior "B" with the St. Marys Lincolns of the Ontario Hockey Association, Junior A with the Chilliwack Chiefs of the British Columbia Hockey League, and major junior with the Detroit Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League.
He was chosen 4th (83rd overall) by the Edmonton Oilers in the 1985 NHL Entry Draft.
Most of his professional career was spent as a backup goaltender in the minor pros. Minard did play one game in thye NHL with the Oilers in 1999-00.
He spent two successful years with the St. John's Maple Leafs of the American Hockey League (1999-00 & 2000-01). He won the Yanick Dupre Memorial Award for humanitarian contributions in both these seasons.
Minard retired in 2005.
