Michal Teplý was born on May 27, 2001 in Havlíčkův Brod. He is a Czech ice hockey right/left winger currently playing on loan for the BK Mladá Boleslav of the Tipsport Extraliga. He was selected 105th overall in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks.

Club career[]

Teplý began his junior career with the HC Havlíčkův Brod (later BK Havlíčkův Brod) organisation. He made his senior debut with the BK Havlíčkův Brod of the 2. Liga playing 5 play-off games plus 3 games in the qualification for the WSM Liga.

In 2017, Teplý moved to the Bílí Tygři Liberec organisation. Teplý played the 2017-18 season mostly with the junior team of the Bílí Tygři Liberec, to be specific, 21 regular season games plus 8 play-off games. He also played 1 game for the under-eighteen Bílí Tygři team and he also added another 14 games into his senior career statistics with the Bílí Tygři's WSM Liga affiliate, the HC Benátky nad Jizerou.

In the 2018-19 season, Teplý played mostly with the HC Benátky nad Jizerou of the Chance Liga (formerly WSM Liga). He played there 23 games in this season. He also played 15 games with the Bílí Tygři Liberec of the Tipsport Extraliga and 8 regular season games plus 4 play-off games with the under-nineteen Bílí Tygři Liberec team.

In 2019, Teplý moved to North America to play with the Winnipeg Ice of the WHL. He scored very impressive 63 points in 53 games.

In 2020, Teplý was loaned back to Europe to play with the BK Mladá Boleslav of the Tipsport Extraliga before the WHL season starts.

International career[]

Teplý played for the Czech Republic at the 2017 World U17 Hockey Challenge, 2018 and 2019 World U18 Championships and at the 2020 World Junior Championship.
