Michal Moravčík was born on December 7, 1994 in Klatovy. He is a Czech ice hockey defenceman currently playing with the Tappara of the Liiga.
Club career[]
Moravčík played junior hockey with the HC Plzeň 1929, later HC Plzeň, organisation. In the 2012-13 season, Moravčík made his senior debut playing one game with the HC Plzeň of the Tipsport Extraliga. In this season, he also played 38 regular season games and 2 play-off games with the HC Plzeň under-20 team.
In the 2013-14 season, his last junior one, Moravčík played mostly with the junior team of the HC Plzeň (he played there another 27 regular season games and 2 play-off games) but he also played 12 regular season games and 5 play-off games with the HC Plzeň of the Tipsport Extraliga and 6 regular season games and 2 play-off games on loan with the HC Klatovy of the 2. Liga.
In the 2014-15 season played Moravčík 38 games with the HC Plzeň of the Tipsport Extraliga and 5 games on loan with the Rytíři Kladno of the 1. Liga.
The next season played Moravčík only with the HC Plzeň of the Tipsport Extraliga helping the team finish third in the league.
During the 2016-17 season played Moravčík 44 regular season games and 2 play-off games with the HC Plzeň of the Tipsport Extraliga and 4 games on loan with the HC Klatovy of the 2. Liga.
In the next season played Moravčík again only with the HC Plzeň.
After the 2017-18 season, Moravčík moved to North America and signed with the Montréal Canadiens organisation for the 2018-19 season. He was immediately sent to the Laval Rocket of the AHL. He played there 20 games and then was sent to the Brampton Beast of the ECHL. After 4 games with the Beast, Moravčík terminated the contract and returned to Europe. He finished the season with the HC Plzeň of the Tipsport Extraliga. He played there 13 regular season games and 14 play-off games in that season.
Moravčík began the 2019-20 season with the HC Plzeň of the Tipsport Extraliga. He played there 35 games, then was Moravčík traded to the HC Litvínov of the Tipsport Extraliga. He finished there the season with 13 games played.
In 2020, Moravčík signed an one-year contract with the Tappara of the Liiga.
International career[]
Moravčík played with the Czech National Team at the 2018 and 2019 World Chamionships.
