Lindqvist made his senior debut in the Elitserien playing 3 games with AIK during the 2012–13 Elitserien season.[1] In this season, he also played 25 regular season games and 3 play-off games with the AIK under-20 team.

In the 2013-14 season played Lindqvist 45 regular season games and 4 Kvalserien SHL games with the AIK of the SHL (formerly Elitserien). He also played another 15 games with the AIK under-20 team.

The 2014-15 season was Lindqvist's last junior one. He played one last game with the AIK under-20 team and another 43 regular season games and 8 Kvalserien AS games with the AIK of the HockeyAllsvenskan.

In 2015 - 2017, Lindqvist continued with the AIK of the HockeyAllsvenskan.

Lindqvist left the club and signed a contract to return to the SHL with the Färjestad BK on March 31, 2017.[2] In the following 2017-18 season, Lindqvist led the club in points per game and established new career highs with 20 goals and 34 points in just 33 regular season games. He added another 3 points in 2 play-off games.

On May 2, 2018, as an undrafted free agent, Lindqvist agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the New York Rangers organisation.[3] Lundqvist spent the beginning of the 2018-19 season with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL. On November 13, 2018, after 16 games played with the Wolf Pack, the Rangers placed Lindqvist on waivers with the intention of buying out his contract.[4] On November 14, 2018, he returned to Sweden and signed a contract until the end of the 2018-19 season with his former team, Färjestad BK of the SHL.[5]

After the season, he decided to continue with the Färjestad BK and he is currently signed there until the end of the 2020-21 season.
