Meghan Corbett is an ice hockey player for the Mercyhurst Lakers women's ice hockey program.
Playing career[edit | edit source]
Meghan Corbett attended the Hockey Manitoba Program of Excellence Camp from June 25 to June 27, 2004. She participated with Team Manitoba at the 2006 Western Shield Championships. Corbett played for St. Mary’s High School and was named the 2006 hockey MVP and 2005 Athlete of the year. In 2005, she led the St. Mary’s squad in scoring.
NCAA[edit | edit source]
Corbett committed to Mercyhurst in July 2008. She was in the same freshman class with Bailey Bram, Kelley Steadman, Jess Jones, Julie Hersey, Anna Johnson, Pamela Zgoda, and Hillary Pattenden. In her sophomore season (2009-10), she played in 34 games. For the season, she registered eight points (three goals and five assists). Her first point of the season came on October 17, 2009 as she had an assist vs. Rensselaer. On December 11, 2009, she scored her first goal of the season against St. Lawrence. At the Easton Holiday Showcase, she scored a goal in an 8-2 win versus Minnesota State. In the postseason, she had her second career NCAA Tournament goal when she scored in a 3-2 OT loss against Cornell. She participated in 35 games in her freshman year (2008-09). She scored six goals and added five assists for 11 points while posting a +11 plus/minus rating. In the postseason, she accumulated three goals. One of her postseason goals came in the second period of the NCAA Frozen Four semifinal victory over No. 2 Minnesota. On March 7, she scored the game-winning goal in CHA final against Wayne State.
