Max Silverman was a [[ice hockey] coach and manager in amateur hockey in Sudbury, Ontario. He was born on August 25, 1906 in Sudbury and died on October 6, 1966.

Silverman started out as a water boy for local teams and became the coach of the junior Sudbury Cub Wolves in 1932.

In 1938 he coached the senior Sudbury Wolves who won the 1938 World Championship for Canada.

He was not only a successful coach for many years but he was a tireless promoter of hockey in his hometown. He was named president of the Northern Ontario Hockey Association and was elected mayor of Sudbury in 1965.
