The Maurice Forget Trophy was given to the most valuable player in the Montreal Senior Group from 1927-28 to 1931-32. It was donated by Maurice Forget, one of the owners of the Montreal Canadiens and an official with the Quebec Amateur Hockey Association.
After the trophy had been won three times by Ralph St. Germain it was retired and given to him for good. A new trophy, the Kenneth Stewart Trophy was donated.
