Matt Kelly (born October 11, 1982 in Hull, Massachusetts) is a former goaltender and presently the head coach of the Providence Friars women's ice hockey team. They have been head coach since 2018.
He played junior hockey with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders and the Topeka Scarecrows of the United States Hockey League. He would then play collegiately with the Wayne State Warriors men's ice hockey team from 2002-03 to 2005-06, he would be team captain for his senior season. He would retire after his senior year. He would then serve as an assistant coach for the Quinnipiac Bobcats women's ice hockey team for the 2007-08 season. He then served as the assistant coach for the Clarkson Golden Knights women's ice hockey team from 2008-09 to 2013-14. He would serve as a scout for the United States women's national U-18 ice hockey team from 2014-15 to 2017-18. He was then named head coach for the Providence Friars women's ice hockey in 2018.
