Matěj Blümel (born on May 31, 2000 in Tábor) is a Czech ice hockey right/left winger currently playing with the HC Dynamo Pardubice of the Tipsport Extraliga. He was selected 100th overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
Club career[]
Blümel started his junior career with the HC Pardubice (later HC Dynamo Pardubice) organisation. In 2017 - 2019, Blümel played with the Waterloo Black Hawks of the USHL.
Blümel made his senior debut in the 2019-20 season when he played 31 games with the HC Dynamo Pardubice of the Tipsport Extraliga while also played 2 games with the HC Dynamo Pardubice U20 of the DHL SuperCup.
In the 2020-21 season, Blümel played with the HC Dynamo Pardubice of the Tipsport Extraliga. Before the trade deadline on January 31, 2021, HC Dynamo Pardubice extended his contract until the end of the 2023-24 season.
International career[]
Blümel played with the Czech National Team at the 2016 World U17 Hockey Challenge, at the 2017 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament winning the silver medal, at the 2018 World U18 Championship where he was named one of the top 3 players on the Czech squad and at the 2020 World Junior Championship.
