The Massachusetts Rangers were a men's amateur hockey team from Boston, Massachusetts. The team was made up of mostly Boston area college hockey players. Along with some members of the Boston Olympics the team made up the United States men's national ice hockey team for the 1933 World Championship where they won the gold medal which as of the 2021 IIHF World Championship remains the only time outside of the 1960 Olympics and 1980 Olympics that the United States won the gold medal at the event.
The championship team was backstopped by Gerry Cosby who allowed 1 goal in five games, including 2-1 overtime victory in the gold medal game which was the first time ever that Canada, represented by the Toronto National Sea Fleas, lost in international hockey.
