Marek Zachar (born on June 11, 1998 in Liberec) is a Czech ice hockey winger/center currently playing on loan with the HK Hradec Králové of the Tipsport Extraliga.

Club career[]

Zachar began playing junior hockey with the Bílí Tygři Liberec organisation. He began in the Bílí Tygři Liberec under-16 B-team and little by little got better. He made his senior debut during the 2015-16 season when he played 3 games with the Bílí Tygři Liberec of the Tipsport Extraliga and 4 regular season games and 3 relegation games with their farm club, the HC Benátky nad Jizerou of the 1. Liga. He also played 3 regular season games and 2 play-off games with the Bílí Tygři Liberec under-18 team and 37 regular season games and 5 play-off games with the Bílí tygři Liberec under-20 team in this season.

In 2016 - 2018 played Zachar with the Sherbrooke Phoenix of the QMJHL.

In 2018, Zachar moved back to the Bílí tygři Liberec organisation. In the 2018-19 season played Zachar 46 regular season games and 17 play-off games with the Bílí Tygři Liberec of the Tipsport Extraliga and 23 games with the HC Benátky nad Jizerou of the Chance Liga (formerly 1. Liga).

In the 2019-20 season played Zachar 52 games with the Bílí Tygři Liberec of the Tipsport Extraliga and 1 game with the HC Benátky nad Jizerou of the Chance Liga.

Zachar also began the 2020-21 season with the Bílí Tygři Liberec organisation. However, after 19 games played with the Bílí Tygři Liberec of the Tipsport Extraliga and 2 games played with the HC Benátky nad Jizerou of the Chance Liga, Zachar was loaned to the HK Hradec Králové of the Tipsport Extraliga for the remainder of the season. He finished there the season with 29 regular season games and 7 play-off games played.

International career[]

Zachar represented Czechia at the 2015 European Youth Olympic Festival (winning there a silver medal), 2016 World U18 Championship (as the captain) and at the 2018 World Junior Championship (as the captain).
