Club career[]

In 2011 - 2013, Strömwall played with the Tri-City Americans of the WHL.
In 2013, Strömwall signed with the Växjö Lakers HC of the SHL. In his last junior season, the 2013-14 season, Strömwall made his senior debut. He played 3 games with the Växjö Lakers HC junior team, 40 regular season games and 6 play-off games with the Växjö Lakers HC of the SHL and 2 games on loan with the IF Troja-Ljungby of the HockeyAllsvenskan.
Strömwall began the 2014-15 season with the Växjö Lakers HC of the SHL. He played there another 21 games before moving to the Luleå HF of the SHL. He played there 14 games. He was also loaned to the Asplöven HC of the HockeyAllsvenskan for 4 games. For the end of the season, Strömwall was loaned to the HV71 of the SHL. He finished there the season with 12 regular season games played and 6 games played in the play-offs.
Strömwall played in the 2015–16 season with AIK of the HockeyAllsvenskan. In recording 42 points in 49 regular season games and 1 point in 10 qualification games, he was signed as a free agent to a two-year entry-level contract with the New York Rangers organisation on April 17, 2016.[1]
In the 2016-17 season, Strömwall was assigned by the Rangers to the AHL affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack. In struggling to find his offensive touch, he recorded just 2 goals and 6 points in 44 games. Approaching his final contract year with the Rangers, Strömwall was unable to make an impression within the Rangers organization and was re-assigned to start the 2017-18 season with secondary affiliate, the Greenville Swamp Rabbits of the ECHL on October 10, 2017.[2] He recorded 2 points in 2 games with the Swamp Rabbits before he was placed on unconditional waivers by the Rangers in order for mutual release from his contract on October 20, 2017.[3]
On October 26, 2017, Strömwall agreed to play the remainder of the season in Finland, joining the KooKoo of the Liiga on a one-year deal.[4] In April 2018, Strömwall made with the KooKoo a one-year extension agreement. In the following 2018-19 season, Strömwall reached a new level to break out offensively, becoming the top scorer and forward of the Liiga, scoring 30 goals recording 57 points in just 52 games. He was selected to the Liiga All-Star Team and won the Aarne Honkavaara Trophy for the player with the most goals scored and the Veli-Pekka Ketola Trophy for the player with the most points recorded. He also scored most power play goals (17) in the Liiga.
On May 1, 2019, Strömwall as a free agent left Finland agreeing to a one-year contract with Russian club, the HK Sochi of the KHL.[5] He also played at the 2020 KHL All-Star Game. In 2020, the contract with the HK Sochi was extended and Strömwall also began the 2020-21 season there, but after 26 games played, he moved to the SKA St. Petersburg of the KHL.
