The Malaysia national ice hockey team is the national men's ice hockey team of Malaysia. It has been a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation since September 28, 2006. Malaysia is currently not ranked in the IIHF World Ranking and is not actively competing in IIHF World Championship events.
International Competitions[]
- 2007 Asian Winter Games; Changchun, China. Finish: 8th
- 2008 IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia; Hong Kong, China. Finish: 2nd
- 2009 IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia; Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Finish: 3rd
- The team is working hard in preparation for the upcoming 2011 Asian Winter Games in Kazakhstan.
Malaysian Invitational 3 on 3 Hockey Tournament[]
In the 2009 edition of this tournament, the Malaysian team defeated Hong Kong in a thrilling game by a score of 8-7 in front of a huge crowd at the Sunway Pyramid. In 2010, the Malaysian team was undefeated on their way to the final versus Kuwait. In the final, thanks to some great goaltending, Malaysia hung on to a 5-4 victory and their second MIHF tournament victory in as many years.
