The MIT Engineers were a Men's Division III team in ECAC East. There presently is no MIT Engineers men's team. The team represented the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The varsity teams were and the club teams are based out of the Johnson Athletic Center Ice Rink located on campus.

In the early years the team would play outdoors at Franklin Park, Jamaica Pond, and Tech Rink which were in Boston. The team would use a rink on a pond at the Brae Burn Country Club in Newton, Massachusetts and even Harvard Stadium until the opening of the Boston Arena in 1910.  The team would be force back outdoors when the Boston Arena was partially destroyed by a fire on December 18, 1918. They would play outdoors for a couple seasons at the Pavilion Rink in Cambridge, Massachusetts until January of 1921 when the Boston Arena re-opened.

The men's team was a member of the ECAC from 1964 to 1975. The team had played from 1897 to 1975. The men's hockey team is presently a club sports team at the school being a member of the Northeast Collegiate Hockey Association which is a conference in the American Collegiate Hockey Association.
