The Los Angeles Canadiens were a men's hockey team that played in the California Hockey League (1957-1963) from 1957 to 1962 The team was based out of the Pan Pacific Auditorium. The team would be renamed the Los Angeles Canucks for the 1962-63 season; but, the team would relocate to Torrance, California during the season and be renamed the Torrance Olympians being based out of the Torrance Olympic Ice Arena. The league and the team would fold in 1963 after the Western Hockey League (1951-1974) would start an expansion into California and its large television markets in the early 1960's, as it was hoping to become a major league either as part of the National Hockey League or as a competing major league.
