
Overview[]
"Miners" is the name of an independent collegiate transfer team with players representing Thompson Rivers University, Okanagan College, and Nicola Valley Institute of Technology (NVIT). The team is located in Logan Lake, British Columbia and operates in the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League (BCIHL) starting in 2022-23. They replaced the proposed Thompson Okanagan Pioneers, a planned franchise which never got off the ground.

Thompson Rivers University (TRU)[]
"Wolfpack" is the name of the sports teams from TRU, located in Kamloops, British Columbia. It was formerly known as Cariboo College (those teams were called the Cariboo Chiefs) then in 1992 became University College of the Cariboo (and its teams were called the UCC Sun Demons). It became TRU in 2005. TRU is a member of the Canada West Universities Athletic Association (CWUAA) and U Sports, however have never participated in the men's or women's hockey leagues. The Wolfpack operated in the BCIHL from 2009-10 to 2013-14, when the program folded.
Okanagan College (OC)[]
"Coyotes" is the name of the sports teams from the OC, located in Kelowna and various other cities in British Columbia, including Kamloops. A team based at the Kelowna campus operated in the BCIHL from 2009-10 to 2011-12. They operate in the Pacific West Athletic Association in basketball and the Canadian College Baseball Conference in baseball.
Nicola Valley Institute of Technology (NVIT)[]
NVIT is not a member of any athletic conference nor have they operated hockey teams in the past.
