The following is a list of Prince Edward Island Junior Playoffs Champions from the pre-Major Junior era when that Junior A was the highest level of play. Traditionally, the provincial champion advanced to the Maritimes Junior Playoffs for that season. In some seasons there was only one team, multiple independent teams would enter the Maritimes Junior Playoffs, or the championship was won as part of a league playoff championship.
Six PEI-based teams would win the Maritimes Junior Playoffs. No Maritimes champion would go on to win the Eastern Canada Memorial Cup Playoffs. In several seasons the Maritimes champion would not participate in the Eastern Canada Memorial Cup Playoffs feeling that they were not competitive enough for the Ontario and Quebec teams.
The 1933-34 Charlottetown Abegweits came the closest any PEI-based team would get to the Memorial Cup losing in the Eastern Canada Final to the eventual Memorial Cup champion St. Michaels College Majors.
Since the end of the East-West Era for the Memorial Cup Playoffs the only team eligible for the Memorial Cup has been the PEI Rocket/Charlottetown Islanders franchise in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
