History[]
Forward Sadie Lenstra was recognized as the 2012 Canada West Rookie of the Year. In her very first game with the Pronghorns, she scored a goal. Her 19 points in 22 contests led all Canada West freshmen, while ranking twelfth overall in the conference amongst all skaters. Her 10 scores led all Pronghorns players, while three were game winning goals. Her plus-minus rating of +8 also led the team, as the squad went 14-8-2. [1]
Head coach Chandy Kaip was recognized as the 2012 Canada West Coach of the Year. In her fourth season, she helped lead the Pronghorns to their best season. The 14 wins doubled the previous best in program history. In addition, the club enjoyed a 19-point turnaround from the 2010-11 season. The Pronghorns jumped from seventh place in the 2010-11 campaign into a postseason appearance for the first time in five years.
