Overview

"Golden Hawks" is the name of the sports teams of Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. The university was known as Waterloo Lutheran University until 1973. They are members of Ontario University Athletics (OUA) and Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS).

The Waterloo Lutheran Golden Hawks hockey team started play in the Ontario Intercollegiate Athletic Association (OIAA) in 1964-65. In 1971-72 they joined the Ontario Universities Athletic Association (OUAA) once the Ontario and Quebec conferences were re-organized along provincial lines. The "Laurier Golden Hawks" have continued in the OUAA/OUA since 1973.
