Lars Eller (b. May 8th 1989 in Rødovre, Denmark), is a Danish forward who plays for the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League.
Son of former Danish international and current Frederikshavn Whitehawks coach Olaf Eller, Lars is one of the best current young Danish players. He was drafted 13th overall of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, thus becoming the highest drafted Danish born and trained ever in the league history at the time; Jan Popiel had been drafted three ranks higher in the 1964 NHL Amateur Draft, but had learned to play hockey at a young age in Canada and Mikkel Bødker, 8th overall at the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, has overtaken him since.
