Lake Placid is a town of about 3000 people in northern New York, United States.
It is located in the Adirondack Mountains.
Lake Placid hosted the 1932 Olympics (Winter), the 1972 FISU Winter Universiade (World University Winter Games) and the 1980 Olympics (Winter).
