Kevinmorrison

Kevin Gregory Joseph Morrison (born October 28, 1949 in Sydney, Nova Scotia) is a retired professional ice hockey player who played 418 games in the World Hockey Association and 41 games in the National Hockey League. He played for the Indianapolis Racers, New York Golden Blades, New Jersey Knights, San Diego Mariners, Quebec Nordiques and Colorado Rockies.

He played junior hockey with the Drummondville Rangers and the St. Jerome Alouettes in Quebec. The New York Rangers selected him 35th overall in the 1969 NHL Amateur Draft.

Turning pro in 1969, Morrison played four years in the minor pros, even after being claimed by the Detroit Red Wings in 1970. His big chance came in 1973 when he signed with the New York Golden Blades of the World Hockey Association (WHA). The Blades had accquired him from the Los Angeles Sharks who had drafted him in 1972.

Morrison moved with the franchise to the San Diego Mariners in 1974 and played three years there. When the Mariners folded in 1977 he signed with the Indianapolis Racers. THe Racers traded him to the Quebec Nordiques in 1978 where he finished the 1978-79 season.

In 1979-80 Morrison signed with the Colorado Rockies where he finally got his NHL shot. But he spent half the season with the Fort Worth Texans. He retired after the season.

In 1981 he joined the senior Stephenville Jets in Newfoundland and Labrador where he played until 1986, when he finally retired for good.

In the NHL he played in 41 games, scoring 4 goals and 11 assists. Morrison played in 418 WHA games with 93 goals and 224 assists.
