Kelly Guard (born June 10, 1983 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan) is a retired professional ice hockey goaltender who last played in Italy for Hockey Club Pustertal-Val Pusteria. He is most notable for back stopping the Kelowna Rockets to the Memorial Cup in 2004.

He was never drafted, but signed his first pro contract with the Senators in 2004.

Playing career[]

Guard played his junior hockey for the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL. He led the team to the WHL Championship in 2003 and a berth in the 2003 Memorial Cup in Quebec City where they lost 2-1 to the Hull Olympiques in the semi-final. Kelowna was the host city for the 2004 Memorial Cup. Guard's stellar play led them to the franchise's first ever Memorial Cup Championship. They defeated the Gatineau Olympiques 2-1 in the final.

He played both the 2005–06 and 2006–07 seasons for Ottawa's AHL club the Binghamton Senators. On November 22, 2007 he registered an entry form and was accepted into the ALH (Asia League Ice Hockey) and signed with the China Sharks. He also played for Junost Minsk, Vienna Capitals and Hockey Club Pustertal-Val Pusteria. In November of 2008, Kelly announced his retirement from professional hockey after sustaining an injury in a match
