Karel Plášek, Jr. (born on July 28, 2000 in Přerov) is a Czech ice hockey left winger currently playing with the HC Kometa Brno of the Tipsport Extraliga. He was selected 175th overall in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by the Vancouver Canucks.
Club career[]
Plášek began playing junior hockey with the HC Přerov organisation. In 2016, Plášek moved to the HC Kometa Brno organisation but even in the 2016-17 season played Plášek 2 games with the HC Přerov under-18 team.
He made his senior debut during the 2017-18 season when he played 4 games with the HC Kometa Brno of the Tipsport Extraliga and 18 regular season games and 2 play-off games on loan with the HC Zubr Přerov of the WSM Liga. He also played 4 regular season games and 2 play-off games with the HC Kometa Brno under-18 team.
In the 2018-19 season appeared Plášek in 10 games with the HC Kometa Brno under-19 team, 29 regular season games and 5 play-off games with the HC Kometa Brno of the Tipsport Extraliga and in 4 games on loan with the HC Zubr Přerov of the Chance Liga (formerly WSM Liga).
The 2019-20 season was Plášek's last junior one. He played 1 game with the HC Kometa Brno U20 of the DHL Cup, 34 games with the HC Kometa Brno of the Tipsport Extraliga and 6 games on loan with the HC Zubr Přerov of the Chance Liga.
In the 2020-21 season, Plášek played 44 regular season games and 8 play-off games with the HC Kometa Brno of the Tipsport Extraliga and 2 games on loan with the HC Zubr Přerov of the Chance Liga. He is signed with the HC Kometa Brno until the end of the 2020-21 season.
International career[]
Plášek represented Czechia at the 2016 World U17 Hockey Challenge, 2017 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament (winning there a silver medal), 2018 World U18 Championship and at the 2019 and 2020 World Junior Championships.
