The Kansas City Americans were a minor pro team in Kansas City, Missouri. They played in the American Hockey Association from 1940 to 1942.
The team was originally the Kansas City Pla-Mors from 1927 to 1933 and the Kansas City Greyhounds from 1933 to 1940. In 1940 the team was sold because of low attendance and became the Americans.
The Americans only lasted two seasons. The league folded in 1942 because of World War II.
In both of their seasons they lost the playoff final.
