The KFC Yum! Center is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Downtown Louisville, Kentucky, United States. It is named after the KFC restaurant chain and Yum! Brands, the parent company of KFC. Adjacent to the Ohio River waterfront, it is located on Main Street between 2nd and 3rd Streets and opened on October 10, 2010.
As of 2024, a group is reportedly working with the state of Kentucky on renovating the arena for a possible National Hockey League expansion or relocated team. Two rounds of two team NHL expansion in the later part of the 2020's and early 2030's is likely on the table due to the Arizona Coyotes situation being resolved and the Calgary Flames and the Ottawa Senators getting their arena situations resolved. Houston and Atlanta are considered the most likely choices for the first round of expansion with Louisville, Kentucky, Kansas City, Missouri, Quebec City, and Portland, Oregon being possibilities for the second round of expansion. The former Kentucky Thoroughblades of the American Hockey League and Lexington Men O' War of the ECHL played out of the Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky from 1996 to 2001.
Earlier hockey teams in Louisville played out of the following:
- Louisville Blades (IHL 1949-50, USHL 1950-51)
- Louisville Shooting Stars (IHL, 1953-1954)
- Louisville Rebels (IHL, 1957-1960) not sure which seasons
