Junior hockey in Slovakia consists of national championships at the U14 through U20 age groups. They are organized by the Slovak Ice Hockey Federation .
The Slovak U20 Extraliga is the top level U20 league. Next in line is the Slovak U20 1.Liga . The same system is in place at the U18 level, with the Slovak U18 Extraliga serving as the top-level league and the Slovak U18 1.Liga as the second-tier competition.
The Slovak U16 League is divided into multiple regional groups to begin the season, with the top teams advancing to play in the national final tournament.
The U20, U18, U16, and U14 classifications are known as Juniori , Dorast , Starsí ziaci 9. and Starsí ziaci 8. , respectively. There are also U11, U12, and U13 leagues in operation, but no national championships are contested at these levels.
