Josef Vašíček (born September 12, 1980 in Havlíčkův Brod, Czechoslovakia) is a former Czech professional ice hockey centre that last played for Lokomotiv Yaroslavl of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).
Playing career[]
- Vašíček was drafted 91st overall by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
- He scored his first hat trick against the San Jose Sharks.
- Won Stanley Cup with Carolina in 2006.
- Vašíček was traded to the Nashville Predators in the Summer of 2006 for Scott Walker.
- In early 2007, he was traded back to Carolina for Éric Bélanger.
- On August 14, 2007,Vašíček signed a 1-year, $750,000 contract with the New York Islanders.
- On July 4, 2008, Vašíček signed a contract with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl of the Kontinental Hockey League
