John Micheletto (born November 23, 1965 in Oak Lawn, Illinois) is an American ice hockey coach and former defenseman.
His playing career would including playing for Milton Academy (Prep School), Dartmouth College (NCAA D-I), the Enschede Lions (Netherlands 2nd Division), and the Erie Golden Blades (Atlantic Coast Hockey League).
He coaching career would begin with The Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. He would coach the team from 1991 to 1996 prior to becoming an assistant coach the Union Dutchmen ice hockey team from 1996 to 1999. He would then become an assistant coach of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish men's ice hockey team from 1999 to 2003. He would serve as an assistant coach and director of recruiting for the Vermont Catamounts men's ice hockey team starting with the 2003-04 season and would be elevated to associate head coach of the team in 2006 and remained in that position until 2012.
He was the men's ice hockey coach of the UMass Minutemen men's ice hockey team from 2012 to 2016. Mincheletto was tabbed as Cahoon's successor and after a decent first season (2012-13) the team slid down the standing and bottomed out for two consecutive seasons. After the second last-place finish Micheletto was fired and replaced by St. Lawrence head coach Greg Carvel.[1]
He would serve as a special assistant coach for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish men's ice hockey team for the 2016-17 season.
