Jimmy Spratt (born November 10, 1985 in Chesterfield, Michigan) is a professional goaltender, currently playing for the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL.

Juniors and Collegiate career[]

Spratt began his juniors career in 2002, appearing in 18 games for the Sioux City Musketeers of the United States Hockey League, posting a 6-6-2 record with a 3.25 GAA. The following season, Spratt took over the starting goaltending job with Sioux City, posting a 19-6-5 record with a 2.34 GAA and leading the Musketeers to the Clark Cup playoffs. Spratt would enter the 2004 NHL Entry Draft and was selected in the 7th round (213rd overall) by the Calgary Flames. Spratt would return to Sioux City for a final season, posting a 24-11-3 record with a 2.81 GAA and leading Sioux City to the Clark Cup finals, where they would lose to the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders.

Spratt would keep his amateur status by enrolling at Bowling Green State University. Spratt would play in all four seasons of his eligibility posting a career record of 27-62-5.

Professional career[]

Spratt began his professional career with the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the International Hockey League and the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL, but would be released by both teams before entering a game. Following his release from Toledo, Spratt signed with the Louisiana IceGators of the Southern Professional Hockey League, posting a 4-6-0 record with the club.

Following a call up of starting goaltender Joel Gistedt and a concussion sidelining their other goalie, Michael Ouzas, Las Vegas Wranglers head coach and general manager Ryan Mougenel called Spratt and offered him a spot on the team. Spratt made a last minute, cross-country trip from Lafayette, Louisiana to Bakersfield, California that included a two-hour drive in the middle of the night to New Orleans, then separate flights to Houston, Phoenix and then onto Bakersfield, showing up to the game just a few hours prior to face-off. Spratt shined in his ECHL debut, stopping all 31 shots he faced to become the first goaltender in team history to record a shutout in their first start, as Las Vegas defeated Bakersfield 4–0.[1] Spratt would remain with Las Vegas for the remainder of the season, posting an 8-3-2 record with a 2.92 GAA and is entering the 2010 Kelly Cup playoffs as Las Veags starting goaltender.
