Jimhamilton

Jim Hamilton (born January 18, 1957 in Barrie, Ontario) was a professional ice hockey left winger who played 95 games in the National Hockey League. He played with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

He played junior hockey for the London Knights from 1973 to 1977 and was chosen 39th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1977 NHL Amateur Draft. Also the Winnipeg Jets chose him 64th overall in the 1977 WHA Amateur Draft but Hamilton chose to go with the Penguins.

Hamilton had a roller-coaster ride in pro hockey. From 1977-78 through to his retirement in 1984-85, he split his seasons between the Penguins and the minor pros. He ended up with 95 games played and 14 goals and 18 assists.

In 1999-2000 he was an assistant coach of the junior Barrie Colts.
