Jen Rawson (born on December 1, 1976) is an ice hockey coach for the UBC Thunderbirds in the Canada West conference.
Playing career[]
Rawson attended Sydenham High School in Kingston, Ontario and was the recipient of athletic and academic awards. In addition, she competed for the Kingston Kodiaks. As a member of the Kodiaks, she claimed 4 gold medals and 3 silver medals at the Provincial championship level. , competing at numerous provincial championships winning 4 Gold Medals and 3 Silver Medals. Rawson participated with Team Ontario at the Canadian Under-18 national tournament and was awarded a Bronze Medal. At the Ontario Winter Games, Rawson won a Gold Medal. A multi-sport athlete, Rawson played fastball, soccer and field hockey. In fastball, she claimed a Bronze medal at the 1993 All-Ontario tournament. Her soccer team placed 4th at the Ontario Provincial Soccer Championships. [1]
Lady Blues[]
In her final season with the Toronto Lady Blues (2000-01), Rawson was the team captain as the Lady Blues enjoyed an undefeated season and a CIS national championship. The Lady Blues finished their season with 35 wins and no losses or ties. In her career, she was part of three OUA championships (1996, 1999, and 2001, respectively).
Coaching career[]
On August 2, 2011, Rawson left her assistant coaching position with the Lady Blues to assume the head coaching role for the UBC Thunderbirds.[2] She replaces Nancy Wilson, who resigned from UBC in May. [3] She was the Varsity Blues assistant coach from 2005 to 2011. and has served as an assistant coach with her alma mater since that time. She is a certified level 2 High Performance Coach.[4]

Personal[]
Rawson graduated from the University of Toronto with honours degrees in both physical education and general education. She worked as a high school teacher and taught courses in physical education and science. In addition, she was responsible for coaching flag football, soccer, ice hockey, and field hockey while she was an educator in high school.
