Jeff Lerg (born April 9, 1986 in Livonia, Michigan, U.S.) is a goaltender who recently played for the Michigan State Spartans of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. He is the cousin of former teammate Bryan Lerg. He was the shortest player in Collegiate hockey during his college career. On July 31st, 2010, he signed with the New Jersey Devils of the NHL.

Playing career

Prior to his college hockey career, Lerg played for the Omaha Lancers of the USHL. He led the league in shutouts, GAA, wins, minutes played and ranked second in save percentage. Lerg broke the USHL record for wins in a season with 36 in helping lead Omaha to a share of the regular-season title. Lerg joined the Spartans in 2005 and was named CCHA Rookie of the Year for his outstanding performance as a freshman.
