Jan Dufek (born on February 20, 1997 in Brno) is a Czech ice hockey left/right winger currently playing with the Berani Zlín of the Tipsport Extraliga.
Club career[]
Dufek began playing junior hockey with the HCM Warrior Brno organisation. In 2012 - 2015, he played with the HC Kometa Brno organisation.
In 2015, Dufek moved to North America in order to play with the Sherbrooke Phoenix of the QMJHL. However, after 36 games played, Dufek moved to the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada of the QMJHL where he finished the season with 22 regular season games and 10 play-off games played.
In 2016, Dufek returned to Europe and in the 2016-17 season made his senior debut. He played 8 games with the HC Litvínov of the Tipsport Extraliga and 25 games on loan with the HC Most of the WSM Liga. He also played 27 games with the HC Litvínov under-20 team.
The 2017-18 season was Dufek's last junior one. He played 7 games with the HC Litvínov under-20 team, 7 regular season games and 1 relegation game with the HC Litvínov of the Tipsport Extraliga, 13 games on loan with the HC Slovan Ústí nad Labem of the WSM Liga and 24 games on loan with the SK Kadaň of the WSM Liga.
In 2018, Dufek signed with the HC Poruba of the Chance Liga (formerly WSM Liga) and played there 35 games. He was also loaned to the PSG Berani Zlín of the Tipsport Extraliga for 6 regular season games and 5 play-off games.
In 2019, he transferred to Berani Zlín (formerly PSG Berani Zlín) of the Tipsport Extraliga and played there 46 regular season games and 2 play-off games. He also played 4 games on loan with the HC Zubr Přerov of the Chance Liga.
In the 2020-21 season, Dufek played only with the Berani Zlín of the Tipsport Extraliga. He is signed with the Berani Zlín until the end of the 2020-21 season.
International career[]
Dufek played with the Czech National Team at the 2014 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament (winning there a silver medal) and at the 2015 World U18 Championship.
