Jakub Flek was born on December 24, 1992 in Mariánské Lázně. He is a Czech ice hockey left winger currently playing with the HC Energie Karlovy Vary of the Tipsport Extraliga.
Club career[]
Flek began his junior career with the HC Plzeň organisation. In 2007 - 2009, Flek played with the HC Plzeň under-18 B-team. He made his senior debut during the 2011-12 season when he played 25 games with the HC Klatovy under-20 team and 17 regular season games and 6 play-off games with the HC Klatovy of the 2. Liga.
During the 2012-13 season played Flek with the Energie Karlovy Vary of the MHL. He also played most of the next season with the Energie Karlovy Vary of the MHL, to be more specific, he played there another 38 regular season games and 9 play-off games, but he also played 6 regular season games and 2 relegation games with the HC Energie Karlovy Vary of the Tipsport Extraliga.
During the 2014-15 season played Flek 16 games with the HC Energie Karlovy Vary of the Tipsport Extraliga and 23 regular season games, 8 play-off games and 4 qualification for the 1. Liga games on loan with the HC Baník Sokolov of the 2. Liga. He scored 27 goals in the regular season of the 2. Liga and became the best goal scorer of the Western Division of the 2. Liga.
In the 2015-16 season played Flek 10 regular season games and 1 relegation game with the HC Energie Karlovy Vary of the Tipsport Extraliga and 26 games with the HC Dukla Jihlava of the 1. Liga and helped the HC Dukla Jihlava become the 1. Liga champion.
Since 2016, Flek is playing only with the HC Energie Karlovy Vary. The team played in the Tipsport Extraliga during the 2016-17 season but was relegated into the WSM Liga (formerly 1. Liga) for the 2017-18 season. In the 2017-18 season, Flek scored most shorthanded goals (3) in the WSM Liga and also had most goals (8) in the play-offs and most points (11) in the play-offs as the HC Energie Karlovy Vary were promoted back into the Tipsport Extraliga for the next season. Flek is currently signed with the HC Energie Karlovy Vary of the Tipsport Extraliga until the end of the 2021-22 season.
