Jacksonville Lizard Kings were an ice hockey team in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL).
The Lizard Kings started life as the Louisville Ice Hawks in 1990. They played there until 1993. They suspended operations during the 1993-94 season, and the franchise relocated them to Jacksonville as the Lizard Kings. They played for 5 seasons in Jacksonville (1996/1997 season through the 1999/2000 season).
They played at the Jacksonville Memorial Coliseum as part of the East Coast Hockey League but wanted a larger, newer coliseum. When they didn't get it, they suspended operations following the 1999-2000 season.
The Lizard King General managers were Jeff Brubaker, Larry Lane, and Shawn Hegan. The head coaches were Jeff Brubaker, Bruce Cassidy 1996-98, Brian Curran 1998-99, and Alain Lemieux 1999-2000.
