Irvin James Spencer (born December 4, 1937 in Sudbury, Ontario - died October 22, 1999) was a professional ice hockey player who played 73 games in the World Hockey Association and 230 games in the National Hockey League. He played for the Philadelphia Blazers, Vancouver Blazers, New York Rangers, and Detroit Red Wings.

He started out in junior in the Montreal Canadiens organization with the Kitchener Canucks, Peterborough Petes, and the Ottawa-Hull Canadiens from 1954-1958. After a season with the Montreal Royals Spencer was claimed by the New York Rangers in 1959.

Spencer debuted in the NHL with the Rangers in 1959-60 as a part-timer and became a regular for the next two seasons. The Boston Bruins claimed him in 1962 and he spent a full season there and was then claimed by the Detroit Red Wings in 1963.

After spending part of the 1963-64 season with the Wings, Spencer spent the majority of his career in the minors. He jumped to the Philadelphia Blazers of the World Hockey Association in 1972 and moved with the team to the Vancouver Blazers the following season. He then retired in 1974.

In the NHL Spencer played in a total of 230 games and scored 12 goals and 38 assists.
