Interprovincial Junior Hockey League
History[]
This league replaced the Ottawa City Junior League as the premier junior hockey league in the Ottawa District in 1957-58. It lasted for four seasons until it was replaced in turn by the Ottawa Hull & District Junior League in 1961-62.
The league was not a financial or on-ice success. It had to compete against the Ottawa-Hull Junior Canadiens in 1958 & 1959 and against the minor pro Hull-Ottawa Canadiens in 1960 & 1961. The arenas it played in were small and outdated. Most junior players gravitated either to the Junior Canadiens or to the vastly superior Ontario Hockey Association.
