The Indianapolis Capitals was an American Hockey League professional ice hockey team based in Indianapolis, Indiana from 1939–1952. The Capitals were a farm team for the Detroit Red Wings. Indianapolis won the Calder Cup in 1942 and 1950. They played in the Pepsi Coliseum.
There was also a Central Hockey League team with the same name, which also played in the Pepsi Coliseum in 1963. They played nine games before being relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio to become the Cincinnati Wings due to an explosion in the arena. The Wings relocated to Memphis,Tennessee in 1964-65.

In 1963-64 the combined Indianapolis/Cincinnati team had a record of 12-53-7-31 and finished in 5th (last) place in the Central Hockey League.
