ImOn Ice Arena
The ImOn Ice Arena formerly the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena is a 4,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, located adjacent to Veterans Memorial Stadium. The arena opened on January 8, 2000, and is owned by the city of Cedar Rapids. It is home to the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders of the United States Hockey League as well as several local youth hockey teams. The arena contains separate sheets of ice for ice hockey both Olympic and NHL sized rinks which is also for public and figure ice skating.
In 2008 the arena suffered extensive damage when record floods. Hit the state of Iowa.
The arena was renamed in January of 2020.[1]
The facility suffered severe damage during a derecho storm in August of 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the USHL was planning on starting play in early November even with the extra time before league starts play it is highly unlikely the arena will be ready for play. The Xtream Arena in nearby Coralville, Iowa is under construction and could be used as a back up facility for the team to practice and possibly play games.[2]
